Rank Tracker

Rank Tracker, from SEO PowerSuite's maker Link-Assistant, is a desktop application, and it's built around a licensing model. The free version has no cap on keywords or rank checks. You install it on Windows or Mac, point it at a project, and track positions across more than 400 search engines without a subscription running in the background.

The free tier isn't a stripped demo. It includes unlimited keyword position tracking, 20-plus keyword research methods, SERP analysis, scheduled checks and one tracked competitor per project. What the paid licenses add is competitor depth (5 competitors on Professional at $349 a year, 40 on Enterprise at $599) plus scheduled report delivery by email and CSV/SQL/HTML export on Enterprise.

Because it's desktop software, rank checks run through your own machine and IP rather than a vendor's cloud infrastructure, which is part of why there's no per-keyword pricing ceiling. The tradeoff is that your computer needs to be running for scheduled checks to fire, and there's no team dashboard the way a hosted tool like Wincher or Nightwatch has one. It's built for a single user working locally.

The interface is old school, but it works. If you want a shared dashboard multiple team members log into, or reports that go out automatically without your desktop being on, this isn't built for that.
