Backlink and keyword data at scale, built for serious SEO work

The original SEO metrics platform, built around Domain Authority
Last updated July 27, 2026

Moz popularized Domain Authority, and that metric, along with Page Authority and the newer Brand Authority Score, is still the reason a lot of people know the Moz name even if they use a different tool day to day. Keyword Explorer and Link Explorer sit alongside it, giving a reasonably complete picture: keyword difficulty, SERP analysis, a backlink index, and Rank Tracker for monitoring position over time.
AI and GEO tracking has been layered on across every tier in 2026: AI Overviews by keyword, an AI visibility dashboard, and prompt tracking across GPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode. It is a meaningful update for a platform that could otherwise have looked dated next to newer entrants built AI-first.
Moz's backlink index is smaller than Ahrefs' or Semrush's, which is the most common criticism from people who have used both.
Rank Tracker checks desktop and mobile positions daily across Google, Bing and Yahoo, tagging keywords by campaign or location and building a ranking history graph with every check. It also tracks the SERP features, featured snippets, image packs, video carousels, competing with your organic listing for the click, and rankings export directly into Keyword Explorer to fold back into research.
Link Explorer is what put Moz on the map originally, and Domain Authority is still the shorthand a lot of the industry reaches for when sizing up a link prospect at a glance, even people who use a different backlink index for their day-to-day work. Link Intersect finds sites linking to competitors but not to you, and Link Tracking Lists let you monitor specific target sites for new content worth pitching, useful for an active outreach campaign rather than a one-time audit.
Keyword research with difficulty scoring, tied into Moz's own authority metrics.
The industry-standard shorthand metrics for site and page strength, still widely referenced.
Backlink index for auditing your own profile and researching competitors.
Position tracking across Campaigns, each covering a site plus three competitors.
Tracks AI Overviews and prompt-level visibility across GPT, Gemini and Google AI Mode.
AI and GEO features (visibility dashboards, prompt tracking) are included at every paid tier, with quotas scaling up. An entry-level single-site plan is available from $49/month outside the three tiers shown here.
