Majestic does one thing, backlink analysis, and has done it since 2004, which makes it one of the longest-running link data providers still operating. There's no keyword research, no built-in rank tracker, no site auditor. Just link intelligence at a genuinely large scale: a Fresh Index covering everything crawled in the last 120 days, and a Historic Index reaching back to 2006.

What Majestic is actually known for is Trust Flow and Citation Flow. Citation Flow measures how many links point at a site; Trust Flow measures how trustworthy those links actually are. Comparing the two tells you something a raw backlink count can't: whether a site's link profile leans toward genuine editorial mentions or link-scheme quantity.

Topical Trust Flow takes that further, scoring relevance against more than 800 categories, and a newer Author Explorer feature finds journalists and bloggers by what they've written and how much authority their work carries.

Bulk Backlink Checker analyzes up to a million URLs from a single CSV upload, browser plugins push page and domain data straight into Majestic, and a Google Sheets add-on brings the same data into a spreadsheet. An industry API lets agencies build Majestic's data directly into their own dashboards.
